Kathy Ann Stallings

January 2, 1959 ~ May 3, 2022 (age 63)

Obituary

Kathy Stallings, 63, of Eustace, was called home on May 3, 2022, peacefully at home with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Johnny and Helen Jones on January 2, 1959, in Dallas, Texas. She shared her home with her lifelong husband, Robert Stallings, where they made many memories over the last 46 years of marriage. Kathy is survived by two daughters: Andrea Ortiz, of Eustace; and April Roney, of Ocoee, Florida. Five granddaughters: Madison, Bailey, Braelyn, Sawyer, and Elena. Along with two sisters: Debbie Langley of Rockwall; and Cindy Lane of Eustace.

Kathy was special in many ways to all that met her. She was a lover, and everyone loved her. She had a way with people. She had a vivacious personality. As many would say- she was one of a kind, a special lady. She never met a stranger and always made everyone feel special and important. She took into our home anything that needed love, support, or somewhere safe to land. That ranged from animals of all kinds to stray kids we brought home from school. She took in many of our friends who needed a place to go and a mother to love them. We thank her for having the biggest heart.

Her family was her biggest pride and joy. She treasured being a mother but nothing compared to her love for her role as Grammy. Her granddaughters were her world. We all know she was our family’s biggest fan and supporter. She was so much fun and always wanted us to have fun too. Growing up, she was always the loudest cheering for her girls and grandchildren.

Kathy had an excitement for traveling, new experiences, and she worked hard to give her family those cherished memories. She and Robert have traveled many places and have some stories to tell of their adventures together. She passed on her appreciation for travel to her children. She always wanted her family to know there was life outside of Eustace, Texas.

Her passion was nursing. She was an excellent nurse, to say the least. She was an incredible leader and colleague to those blessed to work alongside her. Her love for her career and patients was remarkable. Nursing fulfilled her servant’s heart. Kathy was the best at anything she took on. She was creative, crafty and loved to express her art. She always made the best school projects too. She had a knack for gardening- her green thumb resulted in the most beautiful yard as she enjoyed tending to her plants.

We thank you all for your love and support to our family during this time. We express a sincere Thank You to Hospice Plus for being so wonderful during our mother’s transition home.
