Cecil Wayne McKenzie, 81, passed away on November 29, 2021. He was born on December 9, 1939, in Austin, Texas, to parents James Arthur McKenzie and Emma Cottle McKenzie.
Cecil Wayne loved serving the Lord, singing gospel music, and enjoying fellowship with his Christian family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a caring, thoughtful brother to his siblings and extended family. He loved teaching his three sons and grandson his many talented traits. Hobbies included gardening, hunting, and his community service with the Mabank Volunteer Fire Department. Cecil Wayne was a very kind man and would do anything for anyone. He was a father to those that didn’t have one. He will be dearly missed by all that truly knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annette McKenzie; children Cecil Wayne McKenzie II, William A. McKenzie and wife Valerie, and Jeff McKenzie; grandson Josh McKenzie and wife Jessica; great-grandchildren Lea McKenzie and Addilie McKenzie; sister Iline McAdams.
Cecil is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Milton H. McKenzie, Clarence A. McKenzie, Boyd McKenzie, Delbert McKenzie, and Wilburn McKenzie; sister Evelyn Wendland.
Pastor Charlie Woodard, with Lighthouse Baptist Church in Payne Springs, Texas, will officiate for the McKenzie family.
Pastor Steve Ballard will assist.
Pallbearers are provided by the Mabank Volunteer Firefighters.
